Saddle Slot and Bridge Pin Holes. Posted on December 20, 2011 by Morgan The base of the saddle slot jig is held in a bench mounted “Parrot Vise.” The bridge blank is positioned in the jig. A plexiglas guide for the dremel base is positioned over the blank. A “Stop” is clamped in place to maintain position of the Dremel guide. It’s all set up and ready for routing. The Dremel is in place and ready to route the slot. The slot is cut. 5/32″ wide. Plenty of room for compensation. This is a handy little StewMac tool for finding even string spacing between any two points. I’m using a 3/16″ brad point bit to drill the rough holes for the bridge pins. Once glued to the top of the guitar, these holes will be reamed to receive a pin with a 5 degree taper. Spread the word:Share
